Our Place On Earth

In the words of Barb Iverson, “2020’s been tough.” Iverson Family Farms in Woodburn, Oregon did not escape the devastation for which 2020 is quickly becoming infamous. From COVID-19 to political unrest to suffocating smoke from local wildfires, the Iverson family is struggling to make sense of difficult times. They struggle to uphold the family legacy of hosting their annual tulip festival, maintaining their vineyards, and--most of all--taking care of their farm, so that it can continue to take care of them for generations to come. After the loss of the family patriarch to cancer (the year), the Iverson family discovered a unique opportunity: growing hemp. Hemp extract gave the Iversons forty-two days of quality time with their father before he passed. Now they grow the plant themselves. For him, for their community, for their farms, for the future.
